Good morning!
I am renovating our basement and have just laid a platonmatta in our hallway. Now I'm going to lay 12mm floating chipboard on top of the platonmatta for stability before the laminate flooring.

The hallway is T-shaped, and I'm wondering if all the chipboards need to be laid in the same direction, or if you can have the short side tongue against a long side to continue in the other direction of the T-shape?

If the floor chipboard is laid on joists, it should be laid across, so you don't get unnecessarily severe stress on all the joints (and lose bending stiffness there).

But you are laying on Platon and therefore get bearing almost evenly over the entire sheet surface?
Then it doesn't matter if you change direction if you wish.
Just make sure you get the same level on the surfaces if you don't want to cause unnecessary problems due to level differences.

Yep, it is laid out liquid on the platon mat. Thanks for the answer.
