Hello,
I am doing some work in the house to level floor joists, build an installation layer, and renew heating pipes.
Should the edge beam in the intermediate floor connect to an exterior wall that is perpendicular to the edge beam?
In my case, the rim joist is not connected to the longitudinal wall. Either it is completely correct because you don't want to transfer loads to that exterior wall, or it is wrong because a connection would contribute to lateral stability in the intermediate floor.
Which is correct?
I have tried looking at the wood guide's drawings without determining which is right.
It seems to be above the floor and appears quite weak, so I believe it has nothing to do with the floor. A guess could be that it's a kortling for attaching the wall covering.

It is a kortling, absolutely.
Unclear on my part; I mean if you should screw the edge beam against the gable's standing studs that have CC 60?
