Shed roof that extends beyond the corner
Building a single-pitch roof/garage against one long side of the barn. I'm building on the existing foundation where the previous structure stood, so the size and placement are as they are.
Unfortunately, it's not centered against the barn, and it turns out that one side of the wall aligns almost in line with the barn's corner.
I'm now about to lay tongue-and-groove on the roof and I'm considering how to deal with the overhang on the sides. It feels awkward to let it extend beyond the barn corner, while it will look odd if there's no overhang at all...
The options are:
1. About 0 overhang on both sides
2. 0 on one side and xcm on the other, but it will look uneven...
3. Let the roof extend beyond the corner, but how to solve that... it will look odd
This is how it looked before we tore it down, and the roof apparently extended on one side... I don't remember (many years ago) how it was solved or looked exactly.

What a lovely environment! Looks really nice.
I would go with option 3, i.e., overhangs on both sides like it was before. I assume you can allow the sheet metal going toward the rear building to extend out beyond the corner and then add another sheet at the back that goes down a little bit. Or you can do it the same way you planned with the bargeboards.
