Have had a company here in my 40s house that removed and replaced an old cast iron floor drain and resealed, sanded away old paint from the floor and then self-leveled already after two days. Now I'm reading both that you shouldn't self-level at all on an uninsulated slab and that you shouldn't self-level until after 5 weeks, etc.
I only got the information from the company that did the work that it should sit for a month before laying tiles.
Did the same thing here last year. Got perfect results, except for the unpleasant smell from the leveling compound that lingered for almost half a year. But it's said that you should choose leveling compound and primer intended for the purpose (uninsulated slab on grade).
Interesting, I am now about to apply leveling compound on my slab after tearing up the floor due to water damage, it looks like this and the construction plastic was punctured in a few places and the insulation had gaps between the blocks....
So leveling compound is needed before I can lay new plastic. Today I am sawing off the studs that are lying on the construction plastic on the floor. They will be placed above the insulation later...
By the way, how long should one wait before laying new plastic on top? I'm thinking it should dry for a week maybe, the slab is still damp from underneath...
