Hello,

We are in the process of installing moldings in the kitchen, and this is done after the wallpaper has been set and the ceiling painted. I really don't like visible cracks, so I will spend extra time on caulking.

Previously, I got advice that using latex caulk is the way to go, so that's what I tried. However, it turned out to crack as you can see in this thread. It's possible I did something wrong, but overall it was extremely difficult to get it looking good.

The plan right now is to use Tec7 even though it is 3 times as expensive, it seems to be elastic yet still acts as an adhesive.

What do you use in wooden houses that move??

Lists usually work well with latex caulk. Your problem in the other thread was likely related to the ceiling panels. Ceiling panels made of wood fiber material usually can't be caulked without cracking, regardless of the type of caulk.

Tec7 (MS-polymer) is otherwise not fun to seal with if you don't have to. Sticky is just its first name. Use disposable gloves.

Is it not possible to dehumidify the room properly before painting then? Could it just swell? I know I have succeeded with flooring, laying the floor when the air has been driest, and it made a big difference. But maybe it doesn't work on fiberboard in the ceiling?
