Removed masonite from an old interior ceiling and revealed beadboard. The problem is the gaps that "rain" sawdust. How can I seal them? The gaps themselves don't matter; it's the sawdust that's the issue. I don't want to use silicone or similar in an old log house. Anyone got tips? Peeling wallpaper and old beadboard ceiling with visible gaps above door frames in a rustic interior.

Install tension paper. If you want the boards, the next long-term solution would probably be to dig out the sawdust from above, lay paper at the bottom, and shovel the sawdust back.

Thanks for your response. But I want the boards visible, and it's hard to access the attic space. There is a hatch in the ceiling, and you'll probably have to crawl there. But it's probably the most effective way. Kind of you to offer advice. Thanks!
