Hello!

In connection with insulation/drainage, we will lay down a new protective conduit for an electrical cable between the main house and the garage. Currently, there is only a simple 10A electrical cable laid underground, and this will be replaced with a new supply and its own distribution board in the garage. The existing penetration is sealed with something hard and most likely was done when the house was built, i.e., embedded between the leka blocks. What I plan to do is drill a new hole that a yellow conduit fits through (50 mm if I remember correctly) and have the electrician pull the cable through this and connect the distribution board.

Now my question is, what should be used to seal around this conduit?
It will be located where the existing cable goes, about 30-40 cm below ground (if I measured correctly). You certainly don't want it to start leaking just because you've rerouted the electricity :p I also plan to seal the conduit opening with suitable soft insulation (glass wool, insulation that fits around water pipes, or equivalent?) to prevent drafts through the conduit.

Thanks in advance!
Stefan

As an amateur, I might think it sounds unnecessary to run the 50-millimeter through the wall; can't you just end it a few cm before and only drill for the cable through the wall, and seal with some kind of mass like sika or something.
