Hi, I think I have cockroaches in our newly purchased old house. I found a small critter in one of the rooms when I tore up the old flooring. I quickly killed it and threw it away. I read on Anticimex's website that you should seal all gaps so they have nowhere to live. I've torn up the floor and underneath there is rough tongue and groove board that creates a large gap with the wall, leading into the joists/wall. Now I'm wondering what to use to seal. It's a wooden house with wooden joists and wooden walls. Insulation: kutterspån. Year built: 1958.

Thanks for the response!

Best regards

Oh no, not fun!

But maybe you should contact anticimex so they can come and check?

As for whether sealing or similar works, I unfortunately don't know at all, sorry.

Good luck getting rid of this nuisance!

One (1) cockroach is nothing to worry about. It's enough to have a window open in the summer, and you'll have at least one a week that has wandered into the house. They fly, you know. ;)

Ok. But I live in Umeå, so they can't survive the winter here unless they have a heated place to overwinter in. But I've had a lot of ventilation because I've been painting with white spirit paint. But maybe I should calm down. I found 2, but maybe it's still nothing to worry about. :)
