Screws, what brands do you use that last
What are your experiences and recommendations regarding outdoor wood screws in construction?
I had to replace a large number of screws in the outdoor stairs because they broke straight off, and I've never experienced anything like that. 6*90 C4 from Biltema hasn't lasted more than a year outdoors. The stairs don't move much in the cold, so I suspect Biltema screws are low quality.

Unprotected structures outdoors can be tricky, especially when sturdier dimensions are involved. A few years ago, I built a deck with 45x195 as the decking. I screwed it with Heco 6x100. Sometimes it sounded like gunshots when these screws snapped, for example in the cold. My own conclusion was that these large planks moved too much between the seasons, and the screws couldn't always handle it.
I use Biltema's wood screws for outdoor use and have never had them break except now when I made a mold. The ones that are c4 are probably made of too hard material, just like the anchor screws they have, they just break. Or I use TFT Jetting Screws.

Building my deck now.
The construction started 2 years ago, so now I'm replacing diagonal braces with a proper railing, and many screws have broken.......
Biltema is a likely supplier, but I don't remember.........
Klantskallejag bought more Biltemaskruv the other day, but in the future, it'll only be Esseve...
