Where can I find locally screws for pocket hole jigs? As I understand it, they should have a shank and a flat underside on the head. When I look around, I only find those that have a shank but are countersunk, which I don't want. Do you think, byggmax, jula, beijer, bygma, or similar might have such screws, or are they special in some way?

Biltema's domed wood screws work in some dimensions, and I've read a couple of recommendations for them. I've only tested one and sure, it works, but I think Kreg's are much better so I ordered a couple of thousand during a sale. I think I got 3 per krona on the entire order, and it was worth it for me.

I don't really know what size I need at the moment and want to buy "as needed" to see what I'll need.

I don't have access to Biltema but now that I have a name for the screw it should be easier to find. "kullrig träskruv"

Doesn't need to be a neck if the hole is large enough, just needs to have clearance. I wouldn't reject countersunk if I don't have domed in the right dimension. The risk with countersunk is that it might burst, but it depends on how tightly you tighten it.

I know many people use cheap screws from Biltema etc., but personally, I think the price of Kreg's screws is good enough that it's not worth the effort to look for alternatives unless you're working on a larger project. But sure, then it's usually mail order that's the way to go...

As the prototype writes, countersunk head works as well, but I find them to be more "single-use" compared to kreg's own. I've had good results woodworking with the pocket jig and essve's wood screws, and the only issue there is that the head enlarges the hole slightly.

You always need to be careful when screwing, as it's easy to drive the screw too deep regardless of the model.

Jo actually just ordered that kit before I got a reply :) The problem arises when they run out of a certain length. Tried to find the long variants on Amazon but didn't find anything suitable.
