I am building a wall for the bathroom, with horizontal steel tracks on the floor and ceiling and standing vertical wooden studs. Which screw should be used to secure the standing wooden studs to the steel tracks?

Regular drywall screw or another countersunk screw works as well. Ensures that no screw protrudes from the sill or wall plate when you need to attach osb/plywood/drywall…

You can fixate by just tapping with something sharp so the sheet metal bends into the wood. I used a hammer that was pointed on one end, reshaped to a square point. But it can be done with a screwdriver or anything else that makes a hole in the sheet metal and presses it into the wood.

Regular drywall screws, or no screws at all usually work just fine.

Previously, when I placed wooden studs in metal bottom tracks, I only attached the studs at door openings; the rest were positioned before screwing the drywall.
