Screw for ceiling-mounted curtain rail

I am planning to install curtains in the living room and have bought a curtain track that is to be mounted in the ceiling.

The ceiling may be chipboard or plasterboard. The drawings say it's "c/c 60 cm with sparse panel and inner ceiling plank of plaster on the underside", subfloor paper 22 mm glued and nailed chipboard." The house was built in 1968.

In reality, there are studs at c/c 60, so one plan could be to aim the drilling at these.

The brackets for the rail are plastic.

Which screws would be best for this project?

Perhaps woodscrew, anchor screw, or drywall screw? Or a completely different screw?

The flat fork part (the U), with four plugs in each corner (visible on the bottom bracket), should be against the ceiling. And the screw should sit between the fork's legs and have a large enough head to support the bracket.

(Then the curtain rail should be hooked into the "hinge" on the bracket).

But I think choosing the right screw is the hardest part of this curtain project.

The curtain rail is still on the floor because choosing the right screws is so difficult.

This is how I would do it. Try a regular wood screw. If it turns out that it's just gypsum and empty space behind, I would use a plug and use the same wood screw. Should work without any problems.

Wood screws about 4-5 cm long and 4-4.5 mm thick should work fine. It's best if you hit the studs. I would probably use molly plugs or duo-max if you're hitting areas with just plasterboard. In that case, pre-drill them with a drill and drill machine. The screw you use doesn't need to be countersunk but should have a rounded head and flat underside for better contact with the plastic.
