It works great to saw with the miter saw, as knock on wood says.
We have ceiling moldings made of styrofoam at home and it worked perfectly to cut them with the saw.

I read the following description at the link below that others understood, but not me:

"The trick is to not lay the moulding flat in the miter saw but to set it upside down (with the surface that will be against the ceiling down towards the saw table and the one that will be against the wall against the fence). That way, it's easy to hold steadily and it only needs to be mitered in one direction, i.e., by swinging the saw, NOT by tilting it."

Is this referring to 45 degrees or the 30 mentioned earlier in this thread?

If you angle, i.e., turn the strip in the miter box, it's 45 degrees with the saw vertically in the box. If the wall is anything other than 90 degrees, the miter angle should be 90-the wall angle/2.

It is if for some reason you are going to saw it lying flat on the table.
