Hi, I have now finished casting an outdoor kitchen, the base, top, and legs in one single piece, the problem is that the wrong plywood was used which caused it not to turn out as it should, my question is how much can I sand down the concrete, can you sand up to 15mm in some places, and if so should it be wet sanding or dry sanding and what machine should be used? Grateful for all tips.

Why has it become like this ?? a mistake
Is it 15mm that needs to be removed, quite a lot if it's pure concrete, it'll need to be ground with coarse.

Why should you sand? Is it uneven? There is spackle for concrete if it works. If it's on top, it might be possible to fix it with mortar if you're going to have a slab on top.

This is how it looks, what you see is the backside, so when it has dried it will be set up, everything is cast in one piece, 70mm
The bottom and the tip have developed a bump in the middle that protrudes about 10mm, and in some places on the legs it sticks out 5-8 mm, so there is some sanding to do.
I don't want to use filler because I want to maintain 70mm everywhere.

Aha, now I'm with you! Sanding is fine, however, I can't recommend how. If you dry sand, it will dust terribly, but it's possible. I have done it with a random orbital sander on smaller items, but it's not great.

If it's just a little, you can probably do it too.

But check with Cramo or similar renters to see if they have a concrete hand sander, and it will go the smoothest.

Can't you connect them to a vacuum cleaner to avoid the dust?

What is the difference between a roundabout and a diamond bowl?

Yes, a concrete hand grinder does have a vacuum cleaner connected. That option isn't available with a regular sander, but if you're outside with the machine, it should work.

Don't know what you mean by diamond bowl? If you meant concrete hand grinder, then it's the speed and vacuum cleaner that are different.

Jo concrete hand grinder
