I need help thinking correctly.
In our wooden house, 1.5 stories, built in 1942, we have floor joists to the loft that are sagging towards the middle. It's not really surprising since the joists are 2x6 inches and have a 5-meter span. Originally, the loft was barely a loft, but over the last 20 years, it has been furnished and used as a bedroom.
Since it sways a bit, I thought I would reinforce the joists, but just screwing a similar one next to the old one, it would eventually also bend towards the middle. Installing stronger joists, like 45 x 225, is not possible due to the low ceiling height already, so I thought I would be a bit innovative;
What do you think about using a lightweight metal beam, Z-beam, 2.5 mm thick, available in 150 mm or 120 mm, which can be "hooked" onto the existing joist and "laid" into a new joist. Screw the whole thing together properly. Attaching a sketch of how I have planned.
This should be very stable, right? Or is there something I've missed or haven't considered?

Does the light beam have any info on how it behaves at a 5000 mm span? I think that in my house with 220 x 45, cc 600 mm, max span 4000 mm, they have bent down! I understand that you might have issues with 2x6 inch joists.

That beam is probably better than nothing, but I think it's actually too weak. We have a steel beam (HEA) with those dimensions in the basement in one spot, and the engineer we hired for our extension looked very suspiciously at that beam.
I have on my upper floor cc300 mm to the bathroom floor, NOTE 9 inches high.
MAYBE you can go cc 200-300 mm but a constructor needs to calculate if people are going to be on your attic :|
