Hello!
Ceilings made of gypsum and studs are obviously a topic that's been discussed in several threads on this forum and for my first attempt, they have been very helpful - I think. However, I have a couple more queries that would be nice to get some guidance or opinions on.
I have decided that it's probably best to use steel studs in the construction with a layer of standard 13 mm gypsum (invisible seams). Regarding the track and stud, I understand that the usual dimensions are 70 mm and 45 mm, where 70 mm seems to be what manufacturers always, at least, recommend for ceilings. The issue is that the long narrow hallway where the ceiling will be installed is only 137 cm wide, and I'm considering whether 45 mm tracks and studs would suffice?... It becomes a bit tricky to fit a track as wide as 70 mm. I was thinking the distance between the studs would be 45 cm. Is that enough, or does it absolutely need to be 30? The tracks will be mounted on the existing walls with some metal strips from the ceiling here and there for support. Another consideration, if the distance between the studs is 45 cm: Are there "spotlight boxes" that fit that distance, or do I still need to add an extra stud where a spotlight is supposed to go? The ones I've seen all seem to be made for 30 cm.

Hello!
If you attach dense steel bands to the ceiling, it should indeed work with 45 studs, even though 70 is often what's recommended for ceilings. But I would probably go with 300 cc between the studs, as that's what's recommended for the sake of strength. Economically, it's actually more expensive to redo everything in a couple of years because the plasterboard starts to sag. =) That was my opinion! Good luck!

Best regards, KRistoffer

Starting to lean towards doing it by the book - 70-reglar and 30 cm between reglarna. As you say, it might just backfire to be stingy. However, I probably won't be using any 60 cm ceiling plasterboard, but will go with 120 sheets instead.

You should use sekundärprofil in the ceiling, much easier to work with.
