Hello!

We have a functionalist house built in 1936, where there is a terrace built on top of a garage and another room, in an "L" shape that goes around the corner. Currently, it's covered with roofing felt, and the previous owner placed decking tiles in the summer to set out some furniture.

Went to see another house from the same era and they had installed a metal roof and then built a wooden deck on top.

It got me thinking about what the best construction really is here. And how did it look when it was built? There's a pipe in the roof in the middle of the garage, so it seems to have been some kind of floor drain on the terrace originally. Was it just a concrete slab maybe?
