Recently built a veranda and now we're thinking of putting up a roof.

I'll try to explain. Hope you understand.

The roof will be tin tile.
5 m long
1.7 m wide

What is needed for dimension 220x45?

Cc? The rafters on the house are about cc110.. Convenient if we could attach to the old ones.

And do you need to put battens on the beams when you have roof sheet? And if so, what size should they be?

Wooden deck attached to a brick house with pillars for future roof installation, featuring chairs and a door with a window awning.

More information is needed to be able to calculate it. What will be the largest span of the support beam at the front edge? Where in Västra Götaland is the house located? The snow load varies between 1.5 and 3 kN/sqm.

CC 110 will in any case be too wide.
Yes, you need läkt.

Span in the front edge? Distance between the posts in the front edge? In that case, it's at most 180cm between.

Live in Skövde.

The patio is not so wide, 170cm. If you lay a beam between each bearer out from the roof in the middle, isn't that enough? Is battens still needed? Why are battens needed? Attaching a picture to show what I mean, but straight. And a bit thicker Wooden beams supporting a transparent plastic roof with trees visible in the background. Image relates to a discussion on deck construction.

If the largest measurement is 180 cm, 45x145 C 24 in the front edge is sufficient. If you want a 110 cm distance between the rafters, it is fine if they are also 45x145 C 24 and if you place bearing battens that are 45x120 C 24 on c/c 60 cm. If you want to reduce the dimension of the bearing battens, the rafters must be closer together.
