Hi!
I'm renovating a summer cottage of 18 m2.
Considering insulation in the floor. Today, there are 14-15 cm of wood shavings.
I know that the shavings have about half the insulating ability compared to fiberglass.
We want to use the cottage a few weekends in winter, e.g., Christmas and New Year.
What do you think, will there be any noticeable difference if we replace the shavings?

No.

But if the spånet has settled, it might be appropriate to supplement or replace it if the floor is being replaced.

do not change. there is more often moisture damage in glass wool when the cabin is unheated

Another option is wood fiber insulation. If it is an old summer cottage where there are mice, it is definitely an option as they do not like the fire retardant.
