Hello! I am thinking of replacing the nails on my sheet metal roof, 70mm profile, with self-drilling screws due to leakage since they move in the metal. Do you think I can use farm screws 4.9*35mm? Does the washer cover the hole sufficiently to make it tight? Since the metal is nailed at the top and bottom at the eaves, I thought about inserting a wooden batten or similar under the metal where the nails are and screwing into it to seal the hole. Then I would screw the metal into the "valley." What do you think, will it work, or are there better ways?
