Hello forum!

I replaced the decking on the balcony. When I was about to lay the last row, I noticed that there were rot damages on the laminated beam at the end towards one of the posts. The balcony is 10 meters + an angle of 5 meters as well. The beam I'm referring to is joined at the post at 4 meters. I would preferably like to replace it without unscrewing all the decking I have laid. First question, is it possible? Unfortunately, all the joists are nailed with what appears to be anchor nails.

Second question, how would you go about it if so? Can you support the joists under the balcony and remove the beam without tearing down the posts that are spaced 160 cm apart? Can I join already at the first post and thus have three joints in the front beam instead of two? It would then be 6+2+2 meters, maybe not the most visually appealing but it will suffice as long as it holds.

Kind Regards

Pontus
