Hello!
I have a small question since I don't really like the look of brackets even though they are extremely practical. In my sunroom, I won’t have any eaves, so the rafters will connect to the side of the beam. Will it hold if I glue-screw a 45x45 timber to support a 56x180 rafter?

Facts:
Rafter span: 3 meters.
Beam 90x225 span: 3.4 meters.
Roof covering: Raw board, roofing felt, and metal sheets.

Thanks in advance guys and girls! :)

Come on, I know you can do this! ;) Or was it a dumb question maybe?

I did the same on my patio. It also made assembly so much easier. I have a gable roof and placed 45s on both the ridge beam and the outer support beams. Then it was just a matter of placing the roof beams in position. But... I also added some thick screws from the outside of the support beam into the end grain of the roof beams. It feels like it's a bit more secure that way. However, my support beam is only 42mm thick.

It will definitely hold provided that the glue/screw joint is sufficiently strong. Since your load-bearing beam is 90 mm, there is hardly any risk of it cracking at the bottom.

Yes of course, any particular recommendations? I was thinking of a 6.0x100 screw CC 30cm? What kind of glue would be most suitable? Any wood glue?

PU glue, and some clamps while you mount the screw.
