Hello. The basement in my house is currently in a bit of bad shape. The plaster wall is fairly poor, and there are cracks here and there.

Now to my question. I repaired a small hole in the plaster wall with regular light filler, but now there is a hole about 20 x 10 cm, and 5 cm deep. Do I need to use hard filler to repair this, or will regular light filler work?

A new rendering mortar would be better, wouldn't it?

Of course, it's better, but since it's such an incredibly small hole, it feels a bit excessive to buy a 20kg bag of plaster.

But if I find ready-mixed plaster in 1 kg, I'll probably buy that instead.

5 cm deep I don't consider as an incredibly small hole.... and considering that filler is intended to fill cavities of a few mm, some form of repair mortar or perhaps gypsum plaster is more suitable. Sika, for example, has a product in a plastic bag that you just add water to and knead around, it even comes with a small trowel.

Now I don't know if it's an old house, but if you live in an old stone house (like I do) you'll use quite a bit of plaster and mortar when you get started, so a bag of gypsum plaster is always handy to have, it will be used.

I would almost guess that it would be cheaper with bruk as well, what does a sack go for at byggmax? 40-50kr? In terms of bruk, I would probably go for C-bruk, unless you are certain that the walls are newer/of harder bruk.
