Hello!

We are renovating our apartment and need to fix holes in the wall.

I have been searching and found product categories that vary significantly in price. Products like Cascos Husfix are expensive and often sold in smaller packages, while for example (https://www.bauhaus.se/lagningsbruk.html#full-description) Combimix - Repair Mortar is sold in 20 kg bags for under 100 kr. How do the products differ and what should one choose? We have used Husfix during several previous renovations and it has always worked perfectly. The question is really about what issues I might encounter with a cheaper repair compound.

Attached are 3 photos showing the need for use. Irregularities in the wall need to be leveled out and prepared for plastering, painting, and moldings.

  • Damaged corner of a room wall, showing peeling plaster and exposed brick, demonstrating repair needs before painting or adding trim.
  • Wall with plaster damage showing holes and uneven surface, needing repair to prepare for spackling, painting, and trimming during apartment renovation.
  • Wall with exposed bricks and uneven surface needing repair, ready for plastering and painting near a window frame.
Not really an answer to your question but; For such a repair, I would use plaster. It costs about 200 SEK for a 25kg bag.

Plaster is much easier to work with, especially for indoor plastering.

How nice! Is it okay to use regular screws and plugs in gipsputs?

Yes, it should be fine. I myself have done quite a bit of plastering with gipsputs in my house and so far I haven't encountered any problems.
