Hi,
One of this spring's projects is to repair the plaster on a loooong freestanding wall. The previous owner painted with acrylic resin, perhaps causing the joints to come loose. In a couple of places, it looks frost-damaged; I can chip away the mortar all the way to rusty reinforcement.
How should one proceed? My plan is to remove all the paint with a pressure washer and steel brush, chisel away the loose plaster, and re-grout and plaster with plaster/mortar B.
- Do I need to do something about the metal?
- Is it better to use cement mortar A, or is it too strong?
Ideally, one might take down all the plaster and use plaster mesh. But it's a loooong wall, and summer is short ;)
