I happened to chip a small piece of 3x4 cm out of the brick by the "open" fireplace. Is it possible to glue it with something?

Any Montagelim.

Or epoxy

Great. I have some montagelim at home but I guess it's easier to make it look nice with epoxy. Thanks for the tips!

The neatest and simplest result is achieved with cyanoacrylate glue and possibly an activator. It sets quickly, becomes invisible, and is as strong as a whole piece of brick.

Okay! I'll see what the local building supply store has to offer. Thanks for the tip!

There was some searching on the shelf, but finally found this, which is CA-based according to the contents declaration. It seems to fit well and looks okay.

A tube of CA-based glue labeled "Sekund Gele" on a rough red brick surface.

Ca-lim is what is often called super glue. It comes in slightly different consistencies and the thicker ones are really useful. I go through quite a bit of Biltema's for toy repairs and hobby projects and find it good for most things except the absolutely finest work.
