Hello!

In our future house, we have concrete walls with pre-made holes for doors, windows, etc. At the front, we have a double door, and above it, there is supposed to be a 30 cm high transom window.

Typically :-? there has been an ordering mistake, and we received a 20 cm high transom window instead. Now that we've seen it, we realize it's significantly more fitting than what we initially planned. If we are to place a new order, it will also take many more weeks. The question now is what to do with the extra ten centimeters... Our builder suggests solving it with some metal piece idea, and that might be okay. However, we would like to check what other options we actually have.

So, those of you who are more knowledgeable than I am, what would you have done? Is there a sustainable concrete solution, perhaps, that would allow the house to harmonize well?

Very grateful for any help!

Do you think you could install the double door and the transom window? Then, you could fill in the hole above with ytong. What surface do you have on the inside/outside?

That's roughly the idea we've been toying with ourselves but didn't know if it was feasible :). Our builder wasn't sure if it would adhere/look good.

To your question; on the outside, we only have the raw concrete (without any special structure) and on the inside, it's a regular wood stud wall with drywall.

Had placed ytong in the same line as the concrete on the outside. On the inside, I was going to open up above the transom and extend the plaster down.

Thank you for the help!
