As part of a larger basement renovation, I've had help creating a new doorway and installing an HEB beam above the opening. I'm now contemplating the best way to finish the beam. The rooms will be plastered and then painted with silicate paint. It feels a bit odd to just heap on a lot of rendering C-mortar on the beam to fill it between the web and flange.
How have you done it??
