Hello all builders,

Now let's discuss an old honorable topic, is the wall load-bearing?

My theories are that it was once load-bearing before the house was extended and the roof above was redone.

The house is 1.5 stories from 1908 and was extended sometime in the 40s.

Red Lines: Original roof

Green Lines: Roof over extension

Yellow Lines: Walls to be removed. 100mm standing timber and 45mm tongue-and-groove planks.

Blue Line: Roof truss above the wall to be removed. Made of 50x150mm studs.

I will create a 3.5m opening in the old timber wall and build a new wall about 130cm into the house.

Any tips and ideas?
