Hello!
I have just sanded down the stairs and repainted them white. I am now thinking of laying parquet flooring on them and I'm not quite sure how to go about it? I have searched a bit on this forum and read about something called a stair compass but that it can only be purchased through a "step kit" and that you then have to buy the steps through them. Unfortunately, I don't want to do that due to the high price they charge for the steps.
Does anyone have any good tips or maybe have a stair compass they are not using and want to sell?
Then for the floor, what type should I use. I want a very dark floor preferably with a little "reddish" tone throughout. Does anyone have a suggestion on what floor I can buy or at least recommend a brand I should use?
Expensive or cheap, as many proposals as possible and preferably with motivation?
Then for this, I need to buy moldings, I believe they are called stair nosing. Where can you get those? Should they be the same color as the floor or is it enough to buy white ones like the color of the stairs? What looks best?
And would you like to see how the stairs look? Go to
