I have removed 10 moisture-damaged floorboards. I plan to saw off the damaged part, about 30 cm at the end of all boards, and put them back. I’ll have to piece the boards together like a puzzle and buy a few additional boards. The old boards are in the dimension 34 x 85, and I haven’t been able to find any in the regular stock, but 34 x 95 or 34 x 120 are available, so it will have a bit of an odd appearance when it's done, but it'll have to do.
My question, however, is this. The boards were lifted in the wrong order, meaning the board I lifted first is the board that was installed first when the floor was laid about 50 years ago. So when I put them back, I can't reach to screw into the tongue, only into the groove (is that the right term?) or, of course, straight down from above. Does screwing into the groove work, or what do you think?
