The house was built in 1956. The roof/floor of the upper floor is constructed with lightweight concrete slabs. Underneath, they have installed stretched paper. Now we're going to lay new floors and wallpaper. The question is, what should we do about the ceilings? Should we paint and hope it turns out well? Tear down the paper ceilings and fill/sand/paint? Replace the paper with plasterboard/fill and paint? What is the easiest and what gives the best final result?

If repainting, what paint should we use?
If filling/sanding/painting, which filler should be used and any other good tips?
If using plasterboard, how do you most easily attach the plasterboard to the concrete ceiling?

If repainting, what type of paint should we use?
- Regular wall/ceiling paint

If patching/sanding/painting, what filler should be used and are there any other good tips?
- Ugh... I wouldn't even consider this option because of all the work it involves.

If drywall, how do you easily attach drywall to the concrete ceiling?
- To wooden battens. Attach the battens with screws and plugs.

If the cardboard ceiling has no damage and is well-stretched, is there any reason at all to do anything other than repaint them?
