wanted to replace the door between the kitchen and living room to openkitchen, but how should one assess if it is a load-bearing wall?

It naturally depends on the roof construction. Is it a house with regular trusses? Does the wall to be demolished run in the same direction as the ridge of the house? How large is the opening that needs to be made?
