I am planning to remove a wall that seems to be load-bearing. (see drawings) I have some questions about how to calculate what type of beam to put up. I've read some threads here but don't quite understand how to calculate this. Is there anyone here who is willing and knowledgeable about this who wants to help me a bit?

Each stud in your wall can support about 2 KN, so calculate how many studs you have supporting your intermediate floor. Then, use Moelven's program to determine what beam is required. Just remember to also calculate what you need to support the beam! The columns must be placed directly on the basement wall, which I hope is made of concrete. It is not sufficient to just place them on the floor.
