Remove mounting adhesive

I have a metal fitting that is glued to tile with mounting adhesive. I can't get a knife behind it to loosen it. Is there another way to get the adhesive to release? Heat? And if so, how hot?

Try with a fishing line, it usually works when you need to remove something that is glued. Attach a couple of pieces of wood at each end of the line and see if you can "saw" with the line

Great! I'll hunt down some fishing line this weekend and get back with the results!

Have fishing line now and sawing as best as I can. Have maybe made a millimeter in half an hour. If even that.😫

Putty knife, rubber mallet, and heat with a hairdryer. Then it came loose!
