In our old house, there is a concrete foundation under the washing machine. When I tried to remove it with a sledgehammer, I found both bicycle chains and iron rods as reinforcement. The lump is really rock hard and I can only remove small pieces. Is there anyone who can give tips on how to proceed? I have tried with both large and small sledgehammers and chisels. Could one use the kind of agent that can "blast" stumps?

Think like this: hopefully, they have cast the foundation on a finished floor...
Chisel between the floor and the lump and sweat; if you're unlucky, you'll end up with a loose 100-kilo lump to carry out....
Or rent a Hilti.

Thanks for the tip. I'll try the one first, and then the other!
