During the measurement, the house was unfurnished and uninhabited, with only natural ventilation. How reliable do you think this measurement is? The reason real measurements are done in the winter is because there's less airing out then, but as long as they haven't left any windows open during the period, this summer measurement should be relatively reliable, right?

No, it's not just the ventilation that affects the result in the measurement.
It's about the fact that during the normal measurement period, it's warmer inside than outside, which creates a pressure difference that draws the radon gas into the house. This applies to ground radon!
At least 2 months of measurement during the period Oct-Mar is required for it to be legally binding, i.e. for you to be able to apply for a grant from the county administrative board for remediation.
