Hi, this is my first post on the forum, as I am a new homeowner, it's a brick house from 1962.

Does anyone have any tips on what material I can use to secure the railing? The basement wall is probably made of lightweight concrete or Lecasten or whatever it might be called.

Best regards,
Mikael

Fill with husfix, let dry, drill new hole, insert Fischer universal plug UX. 10 mm should be good for that screw.

Thanks for that, sounds great

I would have used a chemical anchor. Blow out the hole, inject the compound, and press the screw back into the hole and let it cure. Then you will never have to worry about this again (y).

Until the screw needs to come out? Or is it possible to unscrew it then?

If you're going to replace the railing, just pry it out and patch it up, or use some fixer-upper so it's a thing of the past. In the meantime, it holds like never before.
