In the picture, you see the entrance to the living room. The archway to the left is the entrance to the dining room. The floor should be laid floating in one piece in both the dining room and living room.

Should I lay it with the direction to the right as per the picture or should I lay the boards towards me? Sound-wise, we have both side light half the day and backlight in the afternoon.

View through a doorway into a bright living room with parquet flooring and a window in the background.

1. Like this
Entrance to a living room with wooden flooring, a doorway to the dining room on the left, and a light source from a window on the right.

2. Or like this?
View of a room entrance with parquet floor, a single plank positioned in front, and light streaming through a window. Doorway leads to another room.

Thanks in advance

According to image 1.

Thank you! I want it that way too. The light has been coming from the left until now, kind of.

A rule is that the ends of the boards should face the light/windows. However, the position of the windows in both rooms is not clearly visible in the image. I think laying according to image 1 connects the two rooms in a good way.

It turned out great to place it as in picture 1.
