Qualified help to discuss remodeling
We have an old wooden house with two floors and a half basement. Part of the basement is a couple of hundred years old and has beams that are somewhat moisture-damaged. Within a few years, we need to:
- Drain the house. I don't think that by today's standards, there is any drainage at all.
- Redo the roof
- Two additional bedrooms and preferably a bit more new space = remodel/expand
Since we have small children, work a lot, and are not handy, we need help with most of it. Also, I believe we need architectural help to get a suitable and good addition.
To start with, I would like help from a very competent and versatile person who can assess the condition of the house and whether it is sensible to add on to it. Preferably also get creative ideas on how this addition could be done.
Are there any tips on where I can find this help? I live in Nacka.
It would also be fun to get general opinions and comments on the project.

My general point would then be that as long as the house is usable, extensions often become exciting and charming. At least if you take some time to draw and think about how you want it. Did you receive any drawings with the house papers? Otherwise, it's not difficult to create a drawing, just measure with a yardstick. I would recommend that you measure, draw, think, and discuss on your own before bringing in an architect. You are the ones who will live there and have lived there, so you know the needs. It's much easier when you sit there in discussion with the architect, and easier for them too if you already have some idea. It's appropriate to be clear about the extension when the foundation is being dug so you can dig everything at once. Otherwise, it's just to wish you good luck! It's fun to renovate houses, don't be afraid to do a little yourself as well, it's even more fun
Hello. Understand that you feel like goldfish in a sea of sharks!
I have a construction company in Norrland now. Used to live in Stockholm earlier, in Bromma to be more precise. I am in "the city," now and then.
If you want, I can come and take a look, just for the sake of it. Obviously, I can't take on the construction task, as I am very busy and the distance is too great.
The reason for my interest is simply to check the cost levels north/southern Sweden. I'm sure I'll find everything very expensive!
You can reach me via email.
Good luck otherwise! Johan

The person who runs Kärras byggnads AB I have used for many years in my job. He has good common sense for advice and can manage large projects. I recommend him in rain or shine.
I work as a property manager and also live in Nacka.
I have also hired Janrik and c/o a few times and they have also done a good job. However, their work has been a bit more expensive than Kärras.
