Have removed the plaster from a basement wall made of leca blocks. The old plaster was painted with some kind of dense paint. If you poked the "paint bubbles" that were still intact, they cracked, and the sand poured out like from an hourglass. The basement wall is undrained and will remain so. The ground outside the wall consists of wet clay, so there is a lot of moisture wanting to come in through the wall. I was thinking of replastering the wall and possibly painting it with silicate paint.
- Will the plaster hold, considering the joints will become damp quite quickly?
- Is B-lime more resistant to moisture than C-lime?
