Hello BH.
I had a local company replace the basement windows with PVC, with the problem being that now there's almost a draft blowing right through since there's wood wool inside the recess in the wall. The wood woolite is visible from both inside and outside since I've scraped away the small amount of foam that acts as inadequate insulation.
We've had major issues with the company in question, so they are not welcome here again. How do I seal it for good now?
Remove the window and plaster over the wood woolite and then reinstall the window with foam again?
It would be good to have an overall view of the window. Otherwise, what comes to mind spontaneously: no wind barrier? Träullit isn't a wind or draft stopping material. Why do you consider the foam not correctly applied or in sufficient quantity?
That's definitely an idea. According to the papers from 1957, it's a 25cm base wall, and it seems to match after measurement. I thought somehow it was an inner/outer wall with träullit in between, crazy but true, but not without reason.
Here's a slightly more sensible picture, deep layer of träullit all around the frame.
I hacked at the ullen with a screwdriver, and it disappeared about 10cm down before hitting the masonry block.
