Realize that this probably needs a proper calculation, but what does someone knowledgeable think? Will this construction hold without a post in the corner?
I'm planning to build a terrace roof with the idea that the construction can be extended into a sunroom. Initially a pergola, next year probably a polycarbonate roof and finally sliding doors.
The structure is built between the facade and a shed. So I'm attaching a support beam to the shed and wondering if you think it will hold in snow zone 2 - Stockholm? I'm planning to use 56x270 beams.
Looks heavily oversized.
How do you solve the precipitation that runs down towards the storage?
Did a calculation on Moelven and they recommend 56x270 or 56x225. For pergola, it's definitely oversized, but for a sunroom, it should be fine if you trust the calculation program.
Regarding drainage towards the storage, that's another issue that might be addressed in a later thread. But I'm thinking of a gutter on the "free" side and some sheet metal solution towards the storage.

How to think around wind loads, also designing a conservatory on Öland where it is very windy, perhaps a lesser issue with snow load here.
