Hello,
I live in a house built in 1974 by HSB in Stockholm. It's a panel construction with walls placed on small distances from the floor and then screwed up against the ceiling so they are clamped in place. In the space above the interior wall of about 50 mm, all the electrical wiring is laid. To cover this, there's a thin plastic strip 65 mm high with a flange that is clamped into a groove, thus staying in place, with a small fine rounding towards the ceiling. I have attached two pictures and hope you understand how the strip is fastened in the grooved board up against the ceiling. The strip in the picture is upside down and should have the rounded part up against the ceiling.

Close-up of exposed electrical wiring above a wall panel with a wooden support against the ceiling, showing installation details in a 1974 Stockholm house.

Plastic strip with rounded edge held next to a tape measure showing 7 cm, used for covering gap above walls in 1970s HSB-built houses.

Now to my question, where can I get hold of this old strip?

Many might find it amusing that one would want plastic strips, but I find it an incredibly smart fastening and it looks very good when in place. Unfortunately, some strips were a bit brittle and therefore broke when I tried to remove them during painting. I have tried dusi, primo, and kuntze but they couldn’t help me. I wonder who manufactured these strips in the '70s when they were installed? Is there any specialist in the '70s residential buildings and the million program here on the forum?

Thank you in advance.
Best regards,

Clever trim that made a neat cove against the ceiling! Unfortunately, it's probably impossible to find as a spare part except during demolition. Maybe the association has saved some and has a little lying around that your neighbors have torn out?

Hi Jesper
I have a similar ceiling solution and am also looking for a solution.
Hard to find a strip that fits as well. If you find any good solution please let me know.
