I am building a utility entrance between the house and the garage.
I have now finished insulating and it's time to put up OSB boards plus drywall.
The question now is whether I should put plastic on the walls and ceiling? If so, where do I put the plastic, directly against the insulation or between the OSB and drywall?

Before I tore down the utility entrance (due to moisture damage), there was plastic in the walls and ceiling, should I do the same again?

In the rest of the house, there is plastic in the walls and ceiling, and maybe it's best to continue in the same manner?
I have mechanical ventilation (exhaust only) in the house, and it's from the early '80s.

If you want to do it really well, place the plastic between the load-bearing studs and a secondary framework such as 28*70 or 45*45. This way, you can run electricity and other things without puncturing the plastic and screw things up with a reduced risk of puncturing.
 
What happens if you puncture the plats on too many spots?
Feels like the screws will go through the plaster and osb a little bit, just enough to damage the plats.
The simple solution might be to use a 5 mm shorter screw??

The plastic should be as dense as possible. Holes can result in warm indoor air condensing when it comes out into the wall, where it gets colder, which in turn can lead to mold, moisture damage, and the like. Compare it to a warm summer day, when the air contains x% water, in the evening it still holds the same, but the air gets colder and then falls out as moisture. Warm air carries more water than cold.
