Plaster walls, sand walls?

Hello!

One day I thought I would repaint the laundry room, which involved tearing down wallpaper and scraping paint

Unfortunately, a lot of plaster came off, and I had to start over completely with 2 walls as they were in such bad condition.
Yep, so now I'm trying to learn how to plaster walls, which is going quite well after 2 walls!

But hoooow can I easily smooth out the first walls?
Can you sand them or is it just a matter of plastering again??
I've used plaster on 1 (soon 2) wall and mortar on 2 walls,

Smoothing plaster is difficult and rarely turns out really well. Instead, buy 1mm Putsbruk C and apply it thinly (3-5mm) with a trowel, let it dry for around 30-60 minutes, and then polish the surfaces with a slightly damp trowel to make them smooth and nice.

I have used plastering mortar on 1 (almost 2) walls and mortar on 2 walls,

I have those things but it turned out so bad but I'll apply a new layer and then wait and use the filtbrätten..
Should I have one of those with foam underneath?

The biggest mistake is probably that I couldn't get the filtbrätten to work (or understand how to do it right)

It's the walls that I had to go down to the foundation on... So there I use murbruk

It's important that the fraction is 1mm on the C-mortar. Felt trowels with foam work well, the white fine-pored foam is best. You place the felt trowel in a bucket of water a few minutes before you start, then you wipe off the water on the edge of the bucket. It should only be lightly moistened, it shouldn't drip. Then you make circular motions with light pressure on the plaster. If it feels like the plaster is getting muddy or about to fall off, it needs to set a little longer before you start. If the felt trowel has no effect at all, you have waited too long.
