Plaster basement walls with Weber Wall plaster rapid?
Hello,
We are renovating our basement and have hired a company. We have plastered walls, and the idea is to keep it raw but make it fresher. Not a luxury renovation since it’s a basement for storage with a laundry room that won't be used as a living space except occasionally for guests.
We had plaster detachment and hollow areas here and there on different parts of the walls. The walls had been painted by a previous owner of the house with woodwork paint, which I’ve read is not good as it traps moisture in the wall.
I had talked to the company and also written down that they should remove old plaster where needed and apply new/repair but sand off the woodwork paint from the exterior walls and re-plaster. Now the company has started the work and has begun sanding off paint from the interior walls as well, which means a lot more new plaster is needed, and it takes significantly longer than planned.
They are using bags from "Weber Wall plaster rapid" which I’ve googled. It seems to be expensive compared to other cement and now I read here on the forum that a plaster wall should have a primer and mesh for it to be good and durable.
Turning to you all with questions for those much more knowledgeable than me:
1. Is it enough to remove and replace plaster “where needed” and only be more thorough with the exterior walls, or should the entire basement be sanded when someone is contracted, even if the plaster on many walls is completely fine? I was thinking of just painting over the old plaster on the interior walls where it looks okay.
2. Experience with Weber Wall plaster rapid? Good or bad to use? Do you have to apply primer and mesh?
As you can see, I have no knowledge myself and therefore cannot assess the quality of the company's work. I want it to be durable and not have to be redone after a few years.

Thank you for your answers. They have used Weber Wall plaster rapid when plastering an entire room and whole walls. Not just as a filler.
It took 1 working day to plaster two walls in a room that is about 20 sqm. No preparatory work was done on the walls in that room as we had already sanded there. Does this seem like a reasonable amount of time?

As an ambitious amateur, I plaster 1-2 square meters per hour. However, faster with rough plastering.
