Hello,

This weekend I am planning to put up a panel wall from Moelven that we have decided on.

The panel boards themselves are 3.6m and the room is 3.7m. So, there will be 10cm left that I need to fill in with the next board. That board will be 3.5m, and I will have a diagonal pattern on the right side of the wall.

I am a bit unsure how to go about doing this so that it looks nice, how would you do it?

I also have a question about the framing of the wall where there used to be a door, so I cannot follow cc 600 there. Should I ignore cc600 over that section (it will be 1000mm there) or should I put up a stud that I attach to a stud on the floor and ceiling and maybe also with a "mollyplugg"?

Thanks in advance,
//Niklas

Hmm, not familiar with that specific panel, but much like with floor laying, it usually doesn't look good with a small piece.
Personally, I would cut the first board somewhere in the middle or at hip length, start with that and then continue with falling lengths. (Then cut and create larger pieces the next time you start to get something that's under 30-40cm left to the wall, or whatever might be considered aesthetic. The same if you notice a risk of a distinct pattern forming in the seams.)

Are you planning to leave the door opening open? (just with the panel over?)

Thank you. It definitely sounds reasonable not to have pieces that are too small. I'm considering what you wrote, but I think the frugality in me sometimes speaks. There is a tongue and groove even on the short sides for fitting, and if you cut these, they then become usable only as end pieces (if that becomes a problem, I don't know :-) )

The door has long been (by the previous owner) sealed with drywall on both sides.
