OK, I was thinking it would be something like that.
But here the form is also insulation, and it should remain in place. But maybe it's possible with wet-on-wet or if you prime if you've made an interruption..?

The process is to use building elements to construct up to waist height, reinforce, and fill with concrete.

You let it cure. The next day, you repeat the same procedure. You continue this until you've reached the required height.

From what I understand, the only tricky part of the process is creating the openings for windows. There are no special form elements for this, so what you need to do is cut the elements where the window is to be placed, and then seal the sides with wood.

Yo,

Regarding this "Pål Ross":

1) What do you mean by 204,000kr for idea+sketch? Is that 204,000 in architect costs? Sounds extremely high to me!!

2) What is included in the design phase when Pål mentioned 236,000kr?

Would be great if you could provide a bit more info! The construction system seems really convenient but having to hire a "special" architect for over 200,000kr sounds a bit strange to me ???

Regards, Stefan

Stefan,

Pål Ross uses, among other things, the Palikka system, but also uses other materials. If you have visited his website thhp://www.ross.se you will see that the houses he designs are designed! not an Älvsbyhus directly, so to speak...

The Palikka system was developed in Finland, they have a tradition of self-build (significantly more than we have in Sweden). So the product is adapted for this.

You don't have to hire Ross at all. What you can do is send a house drawing to Webvirke, who then forwards it to Palikka (Birger Vassenius), who is the originator, to my understanding. He then provides a cost estimate and a list of materials you need. If you choose to build it yourself, he will help with a few days of "get-started" training at your construction site. Then you order the material (not all builders’ merchants have it, but it is available on the Swedish market).

Hello!

We are fully aware that Pål Ross charges a hefty price, but as BoByggaren writes, these are not exactly Älvsbyhus. They are truly unique.

Pål said they spend more than 100 hours on ideas and discussions with the customer, multiple drafts, and any potential changes. The plot is drawn up in 3D. If you then proceed, it costs a little more (236), but then you have your own guy who handles all the contacts with the contractor, etc.

It's a bit like buying the whole house from ROOM or Åhlens; design costs. Those who buy these kinds of houses usually have plenty of money, but perhaps you recoup that when you sell the house later?

Yo!

Hahahaha yeah I just read that about how to finance -NEXT- Pål Ross house 8)

I don't really understand this approach. It seems quite idiotic to build a new designed house to afford to then build a new designed house to then afford... and so on and so on and so on. ???

Thanks for the info!

Regards, Stefan :)

A quick estimation, (probably miscalculated).
120 liters per sqm gives 8.3 cubic per cubic times approximately 1000 sek/cubic gives for a 250 sqm wall area a concrete cost of about 2.3 million!
If the estimation is correct, it'll be an extremely expensive construction. :o

Best regards
David

An acquaintance of mine built a Pål Ross last year.
Count on around 25000 SEK/sqm.

It's like with Rolls-Royce - if you need to ask about the price, it's probably not for you... 8)

David!

You might need to bring out the calculator again ;D

Let's say you are building a house that is 10 x 10 meters and each wall is 6 meters high

4 x 10 x 6 x 120 / 1000 = 28.8 cubic meters of concrete. Then if the concrete costs 2000 with delivery, you're up to 57600.

The problem I see is that you pour several times if you pour to man height and then let it cure. This means multiple deliveries and possibly a higher cost.

What about the strength if you let it cure first and then continue? I suspect you let the rebar extend a bit up from the first "batch"

Yo!

It's not that bad. ~60k for the concrete, and then the cost of the forms (was it ~240kr/m2?) and reinforcement.

240m2 x 240kr = 58k + 58k = ~116k + reinforcement

Does anyone know approximately how much reinforcement costs?

Have I forgotten anything for a complete wall? Yes, windows, doors, pipes, and boxes for electricity and such of course, but besides that?

Best regards, Stefan

If you don't want to live in an eps-box, you should have some façade cladding on the outside and then something on the inside (drywall?).

The problem was also that there were no ready-made "boxes" for windows, so you have to cut them out yourself and then make a mold with boards or plyfa. It might be tricky to make it look nice, but maybe worth hiring someone?

Oops! ;D
How wrong it can be...
Suddenly, it was a much more interesting option.
Too bad the architectural drawing is already done. :(

Hello!

Talked to a guy at webvirke regarding Palikka. Got the following response concerning prices:

A complete finished wall built with Palikka consists of
plaster on the outside, Palikka form elements, concrete,
standard reinforcement (11 mm horizontal and 8 mm vertical),
and plasterboard on the inside. It costs approximately 1200
SEK per sqm to build with Palikka.

Palikka forms cost about 400 per sqm.

Hmmm 400 SEK/m2 is a bit more than the 240 SEK mentioned above. BoByggarn, where did you get the price 80 SEK/each x 3 from?

Another easy calculation:

Forms according to Webvirke: 400 SEK/m3
Concrete (120l/m2, guide price 2000 SEK/m3): 240 SEK/m2 form

This gives: 400+240 SEK = 640 SEK/m2

Is it really possible that reinforcement costs 560 SEK/m2 or could the total price of 1200 include plaster ???

Strongly doubt that it includes plastering, at least not in Stockholm. Just the plastering can cost several hundred thousand ???

Maybe he included the cost of getting the wall erected?

Hi Stefan,

The price information also came from Webvirke.

What he was unsure about then was whether VAT was included in the price or not. But after some consideration, he said "it probably does"...
