Hello.
The idea is to freshen up the ceiling in the bedroom.
But can I sand with regular sandpaper on the material or how would you have done it? Bedroom with angled ceiling and wooden beams, featuring an unmade bed, pillows, and a nightstand with a lamp. Sloped attic room with wooden ceiling beams, a desk with items like a bottle and lamp, a white air purifier, and wall paneling. Bedroom interior with bed against sloped ceiling; window with view, wall painting, and lamp visible. Attic bedroom with sloped, wooden-beamed ceiling, a bed, a black cabinet, a portable air conditioner, and a window showing greenery outside. Bedroom with slanted ceiling, wooden beams, a desk, lamp, chair, and bed. Discussion about refinishing the ceiling with sandpaper.

What kind of boards are they? Probably just need to wash them off, fill in any uneven spots, sand the filler you used ("regular" sandpaper will do), and then paint. If you're going to paint or spruce up (oil, varnish, stain, etc.) the wooden beams, you can wash and maybe sand them a bit as well.

Cool ceiling.

I think it's like masonite boards.
Pretty bad condition maybe not visible in the pictures.
But if I putty and sand a little carefully, do you think it should work?

Are there holes in the masonite, or what do you mean by bad condition? If it's masonite, you can fill and sand, it will be fine. Wipe with some form of paint cleaner and paint. Paint the filled areas first, then two coats of paint on everything. Two coats are usually enough if you prime the filled areas first. But in the worst case, you may have to apply a third coat.

Now, I assume you are painting with wall paint. If you are painting with linseed oil paint, it may not be sufficient with just two coats.
